We saved Alando from death in 2011.
He was at the veterinary clinic with we worked and he was nobody’s dog! He was an abandoned soul on the street and very sick…..he was literally at his wits’ end, he faced his fate with the dignity that only an animal can, he didn’t complain about anything, he was just grateful for every moment of affection and the warmth that was offered to him, he would silently thank you looking you in the eyes and then humbly bow his head back to the ground. HEARTBREAKING MOMENT!
He was suffering from severe pneumonia that required intensive treatment and supervision….instead he was going to be return back to the street, just as alone and just as sick as when someone brought him there and in addition, with his soul perhaps even more broken because….he thought he had a chance at life!
At home we had many problems and many saved souls but when we saw his eyes that followed us with so much hope we couldn’t leave him! We had no choice but to help him and give him a chance at a life full of love!
We have loved and cared for him for 14 years, and the APAM sanctuary is full of dogs like Alando…for them we ask for your help every month!
Unfortunately Alando was left with health problems that require special food and constant treatments, all of which decreased his chances of being adopted. Nobody wants to adopt a dog with problems, that’s why we currently have 80 souls in the sanctuary, 80 souls with health problems and no chance of adoption…paralyzed, blind dogs, with 2, 3 legs, many old cats and the list goes on…
