We receive tens of phone calls daily, each telling us about a problem, and asking us for help. This call caused us to lose our sleep and our peace. A train conductor told us that for the last three weeks he had been seeing a dog lying by the tracks he passes on daily. He stopped the train each time, and gave the dog food and water, in the hope that the she would recover and return home. When he saw there was no chance of recovery, he looked for solutions and found us.
This is how Marina arrived at the APAM Sanctuary, thanks to a man with a big heart who has risked his job rather than let her die in terrible pain.
From what we could tell at first sight, she has a broken leg, and we believe the tail may be broken, as well. The vet will make the assessment once the x-rays and investigations are over. Right now, her well-being depends on those of us who love animals, and who will not remain indifferent, so that such cases may be solved.
